3 GEL-CREAM HYBRID MOISTURISERS FOR HOT WEATHER

| Beauty

Skincare should be seasonal, like your coat and shoe wardrobe, like your diet like most things on planet earth. As we enter midsummer I can tell you my skin is definitely not what it was at the start of last month. Those of you with oily skin will know the scenario well and may be dreading putting on your daily moisturiser now it’s hot. We shouldn’t be skimping moisturiser even though our pores may look like they want us to!

I have started to revaluate my skincare routine and swap out a few of my staples for lighter alternatives. There’s a vlog coming to my YouTube channels in a few weeks with my summer skincare routine but until that’s edited I’ve got 3 fantastic day gel/creams to share with you, perfect for the warmer months and won’t clog your pores.

3 GEL-CREAM HYBRID MOISTURISERS FOR HOT WEATHER

But first what makes a good summer day cream. There are so many new gel textured creams that have launched recently. What’s great about these new formulations is they don’t compromise on hydration levels but the texture and formula feels so much nicer and lighter on heat exposed skin. These water-based hydrators have super-light formulas that absorb almost instantly and feel like you’re not wearing anything at all.

Here are my favs…

Clinique Moisture Surge Gel-Crème

Out of all these products I received this one first and it prompted me to look into similar types of cream. This lightweight cream-gel moisturiser works to plump skin and intensely hydrate for twenty-four hours. It targets fine lines, tightness and dry patches on the face so your skin is at ease, feels nourished and looks radiant.

Why it’s in the post? The formula is not greasy or sticky at all nor is it fragranced so irritated or sensitised skins can get along with it too. It is also designed to protect against external irritants. I’ve hard people with dry and oily skin both say they loved this cream because it helps turn tightness and dry patches into refreshed and supple complexions.

Bliss Fabulous Drench ‘n’ Quench

Bliss is a spa brand I’ve heard about for years but don’t have too much experience with so when the first product I tried from them was an excellent contender for this post I started to believe the hype!

Drench ‘n’ quench is the only spa cream to use hydrozome technology to immediately drench skin with over 10,000 marine micro-droplets and lock it in for lasting hydration that isn’t at all greasy.

It’s lightweight feel and non-greasy but feels really luxurious at the same time. Product layering if you want to use a light oil first and then something on top to maintain a refreshed and bouncy complexion all day long. Great under makeup too.

A solid choice for your next lightweight day cream for normal to dehydrated or combo skin types.

By Terry Cellularose Hydra Comfort Aqua Balm

The most luxe contender in this write up is a fresh By Terry Hydra Comfort Balm. Designed for super thirsty skin types it delivers a soothing and refreshing feeling to ease tightness, dry patches and fine lines and wrinkles.

The formula contains Pastel and White Roses Native Cells, enriched with protective Phyto-molecules that trap and retain water and breathe life into oxygen-poor skin . There is also a detoxifying Black Rose extract and anti-pollution Dipeptide simultaneously to restore the lacklustre dullness you can get with dehydrated thirsty skin.

Although marketed as a balm the formula feels is very lightweight and not heavy due to the detoxifying and rebalancing properties.

Suitable for normal, dry and dehydrated skin wanting beat fatigue, dullness and dryness in one.

Lovely picks, of course the most expensive one is the moisturizer I’m the most tempted to try (always!). I love everything with Black Rose extract in it and dullness and fatigue is a huge concern of mine at the moment, so maybe I will treat myself to it!

  2. My skin’s on the oiler side (although it’s become more combination over the years), and I love Moisture Surge! It’s really hydrating, but it sinks in so quickly.

I love skincare, so I’ll have to keep an eye out for your updated routine video!
